NEBOSH has announced revisions to both the National and International General Certificates in Occupational Health and Safety. Teaching under the revised syllabus begins on 2 February 2026, with first assessments from 4 March 2026.
The changes are relatively minor and reflects the qualification’s continued strength. Satisfaction among certificate holders remains exceptionally high. The most significant adjustments affect how the practical unit is administered and assessed.

10 Days (+1 Day for the Open Book Exam)

Assessment
Candidates are assessed by one Open Book Examination (OBE) that will test the learners’ ability to analyse, evaluate & apply learning, and a 3-hour practical risk assessment that will evaluate what learners can do.
Certification
Upon successful completion and passing, learners will be awarded the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health. Certification is issued by the NEBOSH UK.
